Service Description

Students will focus on China's last matrilineal society. The Mosuo people uphold ancient traditions, showcasing aspects like the walking marriage system, Daba beliefs, and unique cultural forms. Directors Gu Tao ("Aoluguya·Aoluguya") and Gu Xue (Founder of FamilyLens) lead the project, capturing vanishing civilizations and unraveling authentic Mosuo stories. Along the shores of Lugu Lake, a tapestry of ancient mountains, lakes, and traditions unfolds, each frame narrating a profound history. Project Outcome: From this project, students will use the camera to capture the Mosuo civilization, documenting the impact of ancient traditions and their encounter with modern culture. Learn how to conduct pre-documentary research and complete pre-departure investigations for documentary filming.
